As part of an official visit to Italy, the Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, David Songulashvili, met with representatives of the bioenergy company “Cavallari”
During the meeting, the parties discussed the prospects for developing bioenergy, including the efficient use of agricultural waste in biomethane production.
“I would like to extend my sincere gratitude to the Minister and members of the delegation for showing interest in our production, which is a new development. We would be pleased if, in the future, we are given the opportunity to implement joint projects,” said the company’s Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Matteo Cavallari.
The Georgian delegation also observed the production process on site. Discussions focused on the potential for developing similar bioenergy projects in Georgia. Particular attention was given to environmental benefits, including improved waste management, reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, and the advancement of circular economy principles.
The Deputy Minister, Mr. Giorgi Tskrialashvili, Mr. Theodorico Nanni, Ambassador of the Sovereign Order of Malta to Georgia, Mrs. Natalia Kordzaia, Consul General of Georgia in Milan, and Mr. David Chitaishvili, Head of the Department of European Integration and International Relations of the Ministry, accompanied the Minister.
