Lasha Dolidze: “The Rural Development Agency’s programs supported individual sectors through a range of disparate financial instruments. Our objective was to consolidate these instruments under a single, unified framework.”
The Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, Mr Lasha Dolidze, spoke about the priority areas and new financing mechanisms of the State Co-financing Program for Agriculture. According to him, while the program retains its existing directions, particular emphasis will be placed on modernizing and establishing slaughterhouses, as well as on developing the aquaculture and livestock sectors.“Previously, existing programs supported individual sectors through various financial instruments. Our goal was to consolidate these instruments within a unified framework. We designated specific funding units—such as a single farm, land plot, or project —and defined the costs and minimum criteria required to develop them in line with modern standards. Based on this approach, we established standard budgets that will be periodically updated in consultation with the private sector to reflect market price fluctuations. As a result, a unified financing system will be created,” stated Mr. Lasha Dolidze.
Notably, the State Co-financing Program for Agriculture aims to establish a unified, integrated, transparent, and results-oriented system. Beneficiaries will be selected based on predefined, transparent criteria to ensure fairness and efficiency in the process.
