David Songulashvili: “Last year, I visited nearly every municipality, and these visits were far from formal; the Ministry’s full team engaged on-site to assess the real situation”
According to the Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, active discussions on a wide range of issues are ongoing within the sectoral councils under the Minister. This process, like other key initiatives, is carried out with the maximum possible engagement of sector representatives. Work on the agricultural co-financing project involved both invited experts and local working groups.“Virtually no region or municipality was left without direct engagement—we held meetings with farmers and assessed conditions on the ground. Personally, I visited nearly every municipality last year, and these were not merely formal visits; the Ministry’s full team was actively involved in understanding the real situation firsthand.
We conducted a comprehensive assessment of both the domestic market and the current state of primary production and processing. The needs and proposals received from regions and various associations were taken into account to the greatest extent possible in shaping the decisions and framework presented by the Rural Development Agency as part of the program adjustments and transformation,” Mr David Songulashvili stated.
