During the meeting, the parties focused on existing cooperation and opportunities for partnership between Georgia and Türkiye in the agri-food sector. Particular attention was devoted to strengthening cooperation in the irrigation and drainage system management, efficient use of water resources, and the adoption of modern irrigation technologies.

The parties noted that, in the context of climate change, sustainable water resource management and the use of modern agricultural technologies are among the key prerequisites for the development of the agricultural sector. In this regard, special emphasis was placed on the importance of sharing experience and practical knowledge to support the introduction of efficient and innovative approaches within the sector.

The meeting also addressed the export potential of Georgian agri-food products on the Turkish market.

As mentioned, deepening trade and economic relations and expanding sectoral cooperation between the two countries create important opportunities for increasing Georgian exports and enhancing regional economic cooperation.

Mr Dolidze highlighted the ongoing reforms in Georgia’s agricultural sector, the implementation of international standards, and the importance of developing sustainable agri-food systems. According to him, cooperation with international partners remains one of the Ministry’s key priorities and plays a significant role in enhancing the competitiveness of the sector.
