David Songulashvili Attends Independence Day Events in Poti
As part of the events dedicated to Georgia’s Independence Day, the Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia, Mr David Songulashvili, together with the Prime Minister of Georgia, Mr Irakli Kobakhidze, visited the exhibition spaces organised by the Agency of Protected Areas in Poti.Minister Songulashvili congratulated the residents and guests of Poti on Georgia’s Independence Day and the 1,700th anniversary of Christianity being declared the state religion in Georgia.
“I congratulate all of Georgia and our citizens on today’s occasion. This is a date of special significance, celebrated throughout the country. Love unites us, while faith strengthens us — and it is through such unity and mutual respect that our country will continue to grow stronger and develop further,” stated Mr David Songulashvili.
At the Agency of Protected Areas’ exhibition space in Poti, visitors have the opportunity to learn about Georgia’s protected areas and national parks, receive information about the importance of the Kolkheti wetland ecosystems, and participate in various entertainment and interactive activities. Throughout the day, the city’s central square hosts musical and theatrical performances, children’s entertainment programs, and exhibitions and sales of handmade products by local entrepreneurs. The festive program will conclude with a gala concert.
Organised by the Government Administration of Georgia, Independence Day is being celebrated across the country with various activities united this year under the concept: “For 1,700 Years, Faith Has Strengthened Us — Love Unites Us.”
Events organised by the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture are also taking place in Rustavi, where the Rural Development Agency is hosting exhibitions and sales of local agri-food products along with thematic educational activities, while the National Wine Agency is presenting Georgian wine tastings, exhibitions of winemakers’ products, and educational programs for children in Ambrolauri.
