David Songulashvili Visits State-Supported Greenhouse Farm in Marneuli
As part of his working visit to the Kvemo Kartli region, the Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, Mr David Songulashvili, visited a state-supported greenhouse farm in the village of Damia-Geurarkhi, Marneuli Municipality.Farmer Anar Sadikov is a beneficiary of several programmes implemented by the Rural Development Agency. He established the greenhouse operation under the “Georgian Vegetables from Greenhouses” programme. The greenhouse complex covers 3 hectares and is designed to produce more than 400 tonnes of tomatoes annually. The produce will be marketed primarily on the domestic market.
Notably, the “Georgian Vegetables from Greenhouses” programme, implemented by the Rural Development Agency since 2024, has already supported more than 270 beneficiaries. Under the programme, commercial banks have issued loans exceeding GEL 39 million for the establishment of greenhouse farms on a total area of 46 hectares; more than GEL 10 million has been disbursed in the Kvemo Kartli region to support the development of greenhouse farms covering 17 hectares.
