David Songulashvili Participates in Olive Grove Planting Initiative on the Grounds of Holy Trinity Cathedral

The Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia, Mr David Songulashvili, participated in planting an olive grove on the grounds of the Holy Trinity Patriarchal Cathedral (Sameba Cathedral) in Tbilisi.

The event, dedicated to the memory of His Holiness and Beatitude Ilia II, Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia, was organised by the Georgian Patriarchate’s “Greening Georgia” Foundation.

According to the Minister, participating in the creation of an olive grove in the courtyard of the Holy Trinity Cathedral is both a great honour and a significant responsibility. Minister Songulashvili expressed his gratitude to all parties involved in planning and implementing the initiative.

During his visit, the Minister also toured the Public College of Ornamental Horticulture on the cathedral grounds and got information about the institution’s activities.

As part of the event, Mr David Songulashvili, Metropolitan Andrea Gvazava of the Gori and Ateni Diocese, First Deputy Minister Mr Nino Tandilashvili, Deputy Minister Mr Giorgi Tskrialashvili, and other secular and clergy representatives planted 150 olive saplings in the courtyard of the Holy Trinity Patriarchal Cathedral in Tbilisi.
