David Songulashvili Participates in the 2nd Session of the Georgia–Kyrgyzstan Intergovernmental Trade and Economic Cooperation Commission.
The Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia, Mr David Songulashvili, is paying an official visit to the Kyrgyz Republic, along with the Prime Minister of Georgia, Mr Irakli Kobakhidze, and members of the Georgian Government.As part of the visit, Minister Songulashvili participated in the 2nd Session of the Georgia–Kyrgyzstan Intergovernmental Trade and Economic Cooperation Commission and addressed the participants.
"The convening of the second session of the Intergovernmental Trade and Economic Cooperation Commission once again demonstrates our shared commitment to strengthening bilateral relations and expanding cooperation across a wide range of sectors. The Commission serves as an important platform for identifying new opportunities, addressing common challenges, and enhancing practical cooperation," Mr David Songulashvili stated.
According to the Minister, agriculture remains one of the key pillars of cooperation between Georgia and Kyrgyzstan, emphasising the importance of exchanging experience and best practices in food safety, as well as implementing international standards, advancing organic agriculture, viticulture, fruit growing, and agro-processing.
"Georgia is ready to share its expertise with its partners and promote cooperation in professional training, technology transfer, and the strengthening of institutional capacities. These efforts will contribute to the production of high-value-added products and improve access to international markets," the Minister noted.
Mr Songulashvili also spoke about environmental protection and sustainable development issues, highlighting the significant potential for cooperation between the two countries in ecotourism and protected area management.
In the Minister’s assessment, enhanced cooperation between Georgia and Kyrgyzstan will not only strengthen bilateral partnership but also contribute to the achievement of long-term socio-economic and environmental objectives across the region.
