David Songulashvili Meets with the Ambassador of the Republic of India to Georgia, Amit Kumar Mishra

The Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, Mr David Songulashvili, met with the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of India to Georgia, Mr Amit Kumar Mishra.



Ambassador Mishra is the first resident Ambassador of the Republic of India to Georgia.

 

According to Minister Songulashvili, the opening of the Embassy of the Republic of India in Georgia represents an important milestone and creates favourable conditions for deepening bilateral cooperation between the two countries.



The parties discussed sharing expertise and best practices in the agricultural sector. Particular attention was given to mutually beneficial sectoral programs and expanding cooperation in trade, including import and export activities.



The discussion also highlighted climate change as a common challenge for both countries. In this context, the parties explored cooperation in developing climate-resilient agriculture, implementing adaptation measures, and advancing environmental protection initiatives across various fields.



Both sides underscored the importance of developing appropriate framework agreements and practical cooperation mechanisms that would further strengthen sectoral partnerships and enhance bilateral collaboration.



The Deputy Minister, Mr Lasha Dolidzev, and the Head of the Department of International Relations and European Integration, Mr David Chitaishvili, attended the meeting.
