LEPL Information Technology, Environmental and Agro Services Agency established within the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia

A new Legal Entity of Public Law (LEPL), the Information Technology, Environmental and Agro Services Agency, has been established within the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia system through the integration of the Ministry’s centralized information technology management, call center, and service development functions. The respective Government Decree will enter into force on July 20, 2026.

Currently, the Ministry’s Centralized Information Technology Department provides services to the Ministry and 17 Agencies operating within its system. The Department processes and stores data for more than 250 services and software applications and is responsible for business process analysis, management of IT projects, network infrastructure and data centers, software development, administration of geographic information systems (GIS), including the provision of technical support to users.

The establishment of the new Agency aims to create a unified vision and coordinated management framework for information technologies, customer service, and the development of digital services. By consolidating these functions within a unified structure, the Agency will eliminate duplication, accelerate decision-making, ensure more efficient allocation of budgetary resources, and foster the development of innovative, user-oriented services.

The consolidation of these functions within a single institutional structure will create a central information hub, ensuring an integrated system for managing data, digital services, technological infrastructure, and customer requirements.
