Georgia and Tajikistan sign a Memorandum of Understanding on Agricultural Cooperation.
The Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia, Mr Davit Songulashvili, together with the Prime Minister of Georgia, Mr Irakli Kobakhidze, and members of the Government, is paying an official visit to the Republic of Tajikistan.During the visit, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia and the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Tajikistan to promote cooperation in agriculture.
The Memorandum, aimed at developing and deepening mutually beneficial bilateral cooperation in the agricultural sector, was signed by the Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia, Mr David Songulashvili, and the Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Tajikistan, Mr Qurbon Hakimzoda.
The agreement provides for cooperation in key areas, including grain production, livestock and poultry farming, plant protection against diseases and pests, joint scientific and research activities, professional development, and the exchange of expertise among agricultural specialists. It also envisages the exchange of information and participation in conferences, seminars, and exhibitions.
Furthermore, the Memorandum will promote agricultural product exports and strengthen cooperation in ecotourism and agrotourism.
