David Songulashvili: “State-supported enterprises contribute to enhancing the quality and competitiveness of Georgian products”

The Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia, Mr David Songulashvili, along with the State Representative in the Shida Kartli region, Mr Simon Guledani, visited agricultural enterprises established with the support of the Rural Development Agency in the Shida Kartli region.

During the visit, Minister Songulashvili got familiar with the enterprises’ infrastructure, production and processing operations, modern technologies, storage capacities, and development plans. The Minister also met with company representatives and discussed the outcomes of state support programmes, including prospects for the further development of the agricultural sector.

“During our visit to the Shida Kartli region, we reviewed the operations of several enterprises working in various fields. Such enterprises are of particular importance, as they are instrumental in creating a complete value chain within the country. Our objective is to ensure that production in Georgia, first and foremost, meets the demands of the domestic market while also possessing strong export potential. Notably, all the enterprises we visited today were established with the support of the Rural Development Agency and in compliance with high-quality standards. This ensures their competitiveness and contributes to establishing Georgian products as a symbol of quality on global markets,” stated Mr David Songulashvili.
