David Songulashvili Visits Greenhouse Farm Producing Organic Strawberries

The Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, Mr David Songulashvili, visited ‘’Plantveli’’, an organic strawberry greenhouse farm in the village of Misaktsieli, Mtskheta Municipality, where he was briefed on the farm’s operations.

 

‘’Plantveli’’ specializes in the production of organic strawberries, with an annual production capacity of 70 tonnes. Its products are sold on the local market, and the farm employs 24 people.

 

“Global consumer demand for high-quality, certified organic products continues to grow. Therefore, we aim to help Georgian farms make the most of these opportunities and ensure that Georgian products have a stronger presence in international markets. It is encouraging to see farmers focused on adopting modern technologies and practices and reducing their reliance on chemical inputs,” stated Mr David Songulashvili.

 

The Deputy Minister Lasha Avaliani, the Head of the National Food Agency, Mr Giorgi Iakobashvili, the Director of the Rural Development Agency, Mr Zurab Gozalishvili, and representatives of the local authorities accompanied the Minister.
