Minister visited an agricultural cooperative enterprise

In 2017,  the Agricultural Cooperative " Best Vineyards of Gavazi’’ bringing together 29 wine growers was involved in the state program "Promotion of Viticulture Agricultural Cooperatives". Thereby, a grape processing plant has been arranged within the program.
The Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, Levan Davitashvili together with the First Deputy Governor of Kakheti region, Irakli Shiolashvili and Chairman of Agricultural Cooperative Development Agency, Giorgi Misheladze met with the shareholders of the Cooperative ‘’Best Vineyards of Gavazi’’  in the enterprise and got acquainted with the  grape making process .
This year, the enterprise plans to process 120 tons of grapes. At this stage, cooperative receives grapes and plans to export wine to the Republic of Belarus.
"Cooperation as the process of working together for common, mutual benefit is an important tool for agricultural development. A number of state programs are implemented in Georgia to support agricultural cooperatives. Members of the cooperatives can process their grapes in their own enterprises and get an increased income from sale of wine " said Levan Davitashvili.
It is noteworthy, that in the 10th International Wine Competition 2018, the cooperative " Best Vineyards of Gavazi” presented 3 samples of wine made from the first grape harvest.The wines ‘’Separavi’’ and “ Kakhuri’ were awarded with  silver medal, while Rkatsiteli won the bronze medal.
