The Minister visited a newly opened enterprise of the company "Askaneli Brothers"

The grape harvest is underway in Kakheti region. The Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, Levan Davitashvili together with local authorities got acquainted with the grape harvesting process in the new wine factory.
The Minister visited newly opened plant of the company "Askaneli Brothers" in the village Sanavardo, Kvareli municipality, which received more than 3500 tons of grapes from grape growers this season.The above mentioned company carries out an export of different types of wine in 13 countries: Azerbaijan, Turkey, Armenia, Israel, France, Germany, Great Britain, Russia, Ukraine, China, Latvia, Poland and the United States.
"Due to the healthy conjuncture existing in the wine industry, the grape harvest process is underway without any problems in Georgia. Most of the grapes have already been picked. So far, 130 tons of grapes have been processed and the income of the local farmers has reached GEL 190 million,” the Minister noted.
According to Gocha Chkhaidze, the founder of the company, taking into account the emerging technologies, it is very important to protect the quality of Georgian wine, which gained the status of our cultural heritage.
Irakli Shiolashvili, deputy governor of Kakheti, Davit Sogulashvili, the majoritarian MP of Gurjaani and representatives of the National Wine Agency accompanied the Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture.
