Levan Davitashvili met with the UN FAO representatives

The Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, Levan Davitashvili hosted the representatives of the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (UN FAO). At the meeting, the sides discussed the details of the project AGRIS (Agricultural Integrated Survey). The United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization named Georgia as a pilot country in the region among the five countries selected for the implementation of the project. Under the project, the description of agricultural farms, further monitoring and correction of data deficiencies will be implemented.
According to the Minister, searching and processing of statistical data is very important for the development of the agricultural sector. Levan Davitashvili thanked UN Food and Agriculture Organization for their active support.
It is noteworthy, that the project is funded by the "Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation" and is the first project funded by this fund in Georgia.
