David Songulashvili Meets Representatives of the EMaVE Consortium

The Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, Mr David Songulashvili, met with representatives of EMaVE, an international educational consortium specialising in viticulture and winemaking.

During the meeting, the parties focused on opportunities to share international expertise in Georgia’s viticulture and winemaking sector, strengthen education and research, and promote sustainable viticulture.

“Cooperation with academia and international partners, as well as the exchange of knowledge and expertise, is essential to promoting Georgian wine and expanding its export potential. We are committed to making the most of every opportunity to enter new markets, improve the quality of Georgian wine, and increase its export value,” said Mr David Songulashvili.

The EMaVE consortium brings together European universities and educational institutions that jointly deliver the Vinifera EuroMaster, an international master’s programme in viticulture and oenology. The programme covers viticulture, oenology, and the economics of the wine industry, giving students opportunities to gain academic and practical experience across different countries.

Universities and agricultural education institutions operating in Georgia are among the programme’s partners. Their involvement strengthens international academic collaboration, fosters the exchange of cutting-edge knowledge across the sector, and advances scientific research.

The consortium representatives from Switzerland, Italy, Germany, Portugal, Spain, and France, including representatives of educational and research institutions in Turin, Geisenheim, Lisbon, Madrid, and Montpellier, attended the meeting.
