The participants of the conference discussed air protection policy

The International conference organized by the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture aimed to increase awareness of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE).The Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, Nino Tandilashvili made a welcoming speech at the conference. Under the environmental concept "green economy" initiated by the Prime Minister, the importance of air monitoring system as well as improvement of the quality of atmospheric air was brought forward by the Deputy Minister.Nino Tandilashvili thanked donor organizations for their active support in developing appropriate policy for air protection."

The standard of air emission should be determined in order to improve the air quality that definitely requires corresponding inspection of motor fuel - said Nino Tandilashvili.
It is noteworthy, that Georgia has been a party to the Air Convention since 1999, which aims to limit or reduce atmospheric air pollution gradually.
Marco Keiner, Director of the Environmental Department of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE), representatives of the European Union delegation, Tbilisi Municipality City Hall and NGOs attended the conference.
