The Second Eastern Partnership Ministerial Meeting on Environmental Protection and Climate Change in Luxembourg

The second Ministerial Meeting of Eastern Partnership Countries on Environmental Protection and Climate Change was held in Luxembourg. Under the frame of the Ministerial, Ministers of Eastern Partnership countries, high rank officials and representatives of the international organizations discussed circular economy, waste management, biological diversity and climate change related issues.
The Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia, Nino Tandilashvili brought forward activities implemented in the environmental field in Georgia. Nino Tandilashvili drew attention to the ongoing and current reforms, including banning the use of plastic bags in Georgia, environmental assessment, waste management, water resources management, atmospheric air protection, biodiversity and climate change.
The Deputy Minister stressed the importance of  EU and partner countries support, in terms of sharing their experience with Georgian partners and support for improving infrastructure.The need for financial support to provide to Georgia in the atmospheric air protection and to further strengthen the monitoring network was clearly defined in the Luxembourg Declaration.
