Apart from relevant measures taken by private individuals to detect illegal logging, the Environmental Supervision Department of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture provides complex measures, while inspecting special licenses issued for making wood products.
Based on the inspection, the National Environmental Agency has abolished the license issued in 2009 on making timber production on 723 ha in Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti region. The person’s license was suspended as he was detected in illegal logging thus violating the requirements of the law.
As a result, the license holder was deprived of the right to use the remaining resources on the licensed area. The Environmental Supervision Department of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture has revealed a number of cases of illegal logging as well as violation of the requirements of law. 
Each licensee's activities will be evaluated by the National Environmental Agency, therefore strict measures will be taken in accordance with the requirements of the legislation.
