"Georgia – Homeland of Wine" – Exhibition is planned to hold in Japan

The First Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, Nodar Kereselidze held a meeting with the official representatives of wine consulting company "Asia" and SONY exhibition center "Warehouse TERRADA.
The organizational issues related to the Exposition "Georgia- Homeland of Wine" to conduct in the exhibition center "Warehouse TERRADA" in Japan has been highlighted by participants at the meeting. Nodar Kereselidze gave a detailed account of Georgian wine history, endemic varieties of Georgian vine and ancient wine making traditions, he drew guests’ attention to the exhibition ‘’Georgia- Cradle of Wine’’ held in the "Cité des Civilisations Du Vin" –World Wine Civilization Center in France, Bordeaux, France.
The importance of developing trade and economic relations between the two countries, as well as significance of wine export to increase in Japan was emphasized by the First Deputy Minister, who also declared, that Japan is a strategic partner to Georgia.
The participants noted,  that in 2018, for the first time in the history of Japanese traditional sport -Sumo Wrestling, Georgian wrestler Levan Gorgadze, the same Tochinoshin, became the first Georgian athlete to win the Emperor's Cup. According to Nodar Kereselidze, Georgian athlete’s victory will further increase Japanese interest towards Georgians, therefore, it will play a significant role in strengthening cooperation between the two sides in a number of areas.
"We appreciate your ancient culture and feel mostly delighted, that under the frame of the joint event, we will have an opportunity to increase awareness of  Georgia as an ancient country of wine culture. We would like to note, that above mentioned event will be the beginning to build successful relations between Japan and Georgia" -said the representative of wine consulting company" AC Asia ".
The Heads of the National Wine Agency and the Executive Director of the Association "Georgian Wine", Tina Kezeri attended the meeting  at the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture.
