Six month progress report on Rural Development Strategy
The Inter-Agency Coordination Council for Rural Development held a session, where the participants discussed six month progress report of the Rural Development Strategy of Georgia (2017-2020) and an Action Plan (2018-2020). The First Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, Nodar Kereselidze underlined the importance of rural development and thanked representatives of the EU and donor organizations for their financial support.
Inter-firm cooperation between the Governmental Agencies will lead to the effective implementation of the Action Plan 2020-was noted by the First Deputy at the meeting. The members of the Inter-Agency Coordination Council presented reports of their agencies. The participants also discussed recommendations made by the local action groups.
It’s worth noting, that along with the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, the Inter Agency Coordination Council for Rural Development is comprised of the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development, Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure,
Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport and the Ministry of Internally Displaced Persons from the Occupied Territories, Labor, Health and Social Affairs of Georgia.
