Giorgi Khanishvili hosted the DEIK delegation

The Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia, Giorgi Khanishvili hosted the delegation of the Foreign Economic Relations Board of Turkey (DEIK), which is regarded as the largest business community in Turkey.
The Chair of the Turkey-Georgia Business Council, Cemal Yangın headed the delegation. At the meeting, Giorgi Khanishvili brought forward issues related to the free business environment and flexible tax system built in Georgia and expressed his interest to get more information about investment potential of Turkish side, he also underlined the importance of strategic partnership between Georgia and Turkey and pointed to the significant potential and growth prospects of agricultural production in the country. Turkish Ambassador, Ceren Yazgin noted, that Turkey is interested in agro-food products import from Georgia.
The participants noted, that favorable climatic conditions in Georgia will facilitate to the development of organic farming in the country. The simplified procedures for export, especially transportation of goods was also brought forward at the meeting.
The Deputy Minister stated, that Turkey is an important trading partner for Georgia and two countries have great potential to further deepen trade and economic relations.
The Ambassador of Turkey to Georgia Ceren Yazgin, Director of Georgian branch of Ziraat Bank, Mehmet Ebar and representatives of various Departments of the Ministry attended the meeting.
