Farmers' Day to celebrate in Zugdidi

The Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia, Levan Davitashvili attended the event dedicated to the farmer's day in Dadiani Palace, Zugdidi. " Farmers’ Day’’ to celebrate at the end of Autumn might have be a symbolic, as far as, the end of Autumn is the time when farmers are summing up the results of their work" said the Minister.
The event was organized by the Georgian Farmers Association. 23 farmers were awarded for achieved success.
"Farmer's Day celebrated since 2015 gives farmers an additional incentive, that their work will be further awarded. At the event, farmers share their success with each other and the best farmers are awarded. I think this tradition will continue in the future as well. 
‘’We celebrate Farmers Day in Samegrelo region for the first time, however, next year we will celebrate this event in Shida Kartli region. The state creates tools for farmers to increase their productivity,  produce competitive products and get more revenue with lower costs.
I would like to thank all farmers for their work and eagerness to do their best. I would like to express my gratitude to Farmers Association, for their committment of celebrating this day in a wonderful situation " - said Levan Davitashvili.
Farmers' Day was set up with the initiative of former Minister of Agriculture of Georgia, Otar Danelia, who is the Chairman of the Agrarian Committee of Parliament at present time.
This year, about 400 farmers, invited guests, as well as high rank officials including Minister of Internal Affairs, Giorgi Gakaria, Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure, Maia Tskitishvili, Minister of Economy, Giorgi Kobalia, Governor of Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti region, Alexander Motseria, as well as representatives of executive, legislative bodies and local government attended the event.
