Presentation of the USAID New Agricultural Program

The First Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, Nodar Kereselidze, accompanied by the acting US Ambassador to Georgia, Ross Wilson and Mission Director of the USAID/Georgia,  Peter A. Wiebler attended the presentation of the USAID New Agriculture Program, which was held at the Democratic Engagement Center in Kutaisi.
Under the program, the USAID leading partner agribusinessmen will share their experience with start-up companies. Within the partnership, 3,000 jobs are planned to be created, agribusiness sales will be increased by 60 million dollars and $ 7 million private fund investment amounted to $ 7 million will be attracted.
At the meeting, Nodar Kereselidze thanked the US Ambassador for the support provided from USAID for agricultural development in Georgia.
The First Deputy Minister noted, that effective implementation of the new program needs accumulated experience to further use to create a number of successful business models in the country.
According to the US Ambassador, Ross Wilson, the United States supports the development of Georgia. The launch of a new agricultural program is yet another confirmation of support provided to Georgia.
Within the event, the First Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture Nodar Kereselidze together with the US Ambassador, Ross Wilson and USAID Mission Director, Peter A. Wiebler visited an enterprise "Herbia’’, which was financed under the USAID / REAP project.
