The Minister met with the representatives of the European Diary Association

The Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia stressed the importance of the development of the diary sector in the country.
"Agricultural policy aims to promote farming activities in the country. Despite the challenges faced by the agricultural sector, it still continues to drive impressive economic growth. Due to the priority of the sector, we have developed a law on agricultural cooperatives through consolidated forces to further support the development of the agricultural sector, what  we believe is a very important factor. 
It is important to strengthen farming activities and enhance competitiveness of the agricultural sector in Georgia, which might be regarded as one of the agenda items of the Ministry. Therefore, regarding development of the diary sector, the state is actively working on the development of a number of projects "said Levan Davitashvili.
The Minister expressed his gratitude to the representatives of the donor organizations, especially to the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) for their contribution and support in the agrarian sector.
" It is obvious, that diary sector is developing in Georgia, which pushes to further economic growth of the country. We support the development of the agrarian sector and We are ready to cooperate with Georgian side " - said Alexander Anton, General of the European Dairy Association (EDA).
The event was organized by the Dairy Producers Association "Sakrdze". Under the frame of the event, the association "Sakrdze" and ‘’EDA’’ signed the document, based on which the "Sakrdze" became the member of the European Dairy Association (EDA).Â
