Project ''Promoting Sustainable Forest Management For Climate Resilient Rural Development in Georgia''

The Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, Yuri Nozadze underlined the importance of the Project ‘’ Promoting Sustainable Forest Management for Climate Resilient Rural Development in Georgia''. The objective of the project  is to promote climate-‐resilient rural development in different regions of Georgia. It should be noted, that through introduction of sustainable forest management principles, improvement of forest management, adoption of sustainable energy solutions and through awareness raising and knowledge sharing approach the implementation of the project will further lead to the diversification of sources of income in rural areas and reduction of ecological risks. In cooperation with the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture and with the financial support of the Austrian Development Agency (ADC) the Caucasus Environmental NGO Network CENN implements the project.

The  Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Natia Turnava, Ambassador of Austria to Georgia Arad Benko;, head of the Austrian Development Agency, Gerhard Schumperger, representatives of the Austrian Development Agency and members of the Environmental Committee of Parliament attended the meeting.
