Delivering and selling peaches in Kakheti region
The Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, Solomon Pavliashvili accompanied by the governor of Kakheti region, Irakli Kadagishvili held meetings with farmers, exporters and heads of the fruit processing enterprises in Gurjaani municipality. At the meeting, the sides discussed issues related to the peach harvest, delivery and selling process. The total volume of harvested fruit products reaches 36 600 tons in Kakheti region, out of which the share of peach fruit amounts to 23 600 tons while the nectarine -13 000 tons.
A coordination center will be opened in Gurjaani, Kakheti region to conduct peach delivery and selling process in an organized manner -was noted by the Deputy Minister, Solomon Pavliashvili. The Head of the Regional Coordination Department of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, Shalva Kereselidze will run the center.
The group composed of the representatives of the informational-consulting center of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, as well as specialists of phyto sanitary field will be engaged in the peach harvesting process. The group will provide measures to prepare/issue necessary export documents under the frame of the ‘’Single Window’’ principles.
