Caucasus Nature Fund celebrates its 10 th anniversary

The Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia,  Levan Davitashvili attended the celebration event of Caucasus Nature Fund. The Minister addressed the audience, he highlighted activities carried out by the Fund and congratulated them on the 10th anniversary.

"Caucasus Nature Fund is an important international organization that works not only in Georgia but in other republics of the Caucasus as well. I would like to congratulate on the 10th anniversary and note, that a number of activities were implemented within 10 years to improve the conditions of the protected areas " - said Levan Davitashvili.

"10 years ago we supported the first Borjomi-Kharagauli National Park in Georgia. After the 2008 war, we bought firefighting apparatus and cars. 10 years have passed since 2008 war, when we bought firefighting apparatus and cars, afterwards we increased our support and provided assistance to ten largest and most important protected areas in Georgia’’ - said David Morrison, chairman of the Caucasus Nature Fund Council.

The Caucasus Nature Fund founded within the frames of Georgia-Germany cooperation is a bridge between the business sector and the agency. The Foundation has several corporate donors and individual donors.

The Caucasus Nature Fund carries out various projects to assure financial sustainability in Georgia, Armenia and Azerbaijan Protected Areas System. In total, more than 10 million GEL is spent on the development of Georgia's protected areas.
