Meeting with the Delegation of Italy

The Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, Nino Tandilashvili hosted the representatives of the Ministry for Environment, Land and Sea Protection of the Republic of  Italy.
Under the frame of the Memorandum of Cooperation signed between the two countries, the participants discussed ways to develop and implement effective measures for climate change risk assessment in Georgia.
Italy’s support to Georgia, as well as green economy development in the country was stressed by the Deputy at the meeting.
Within the grant allocated by the Republic of Italy, a number of projects will be implemented in the surroundings of Tbilisi, namely nearby the territory of river Mtkvari and its tributaries. The projects will embrace an introduction of atmospheric modeling and air quality forecasting system, purchasing and installing of air quality monitoring stations, conducting hydrological and geological survey and introducing an effective system for checking and controlling the quality for any packaging material-was noted at the meeting.
The Head of the National Environmental Agency, Andro Aslanishvili along with the representatives of the relevant departments of the Agency attended the meeting.
