Under the frame of the Berlin "Green Week 2019" Levan Davitashvili held bilateral meetings

Berlin hosted the world's biggest consumer fair for food, agricultural, and horticultural industries ’Gruene Woche 2019’’, which was opened on January 18 and will be closed on January 27. The Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia, Levan Davitashvili attended the opening ceremony.
Within the exhibition, Levan Davitashvili held bilateral meetings with the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development of the Republic of Poland, Jan Krzysztof Ardanowski, Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, Martyniuk Maxym, Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Latvia, Jānis Dūklavs,  Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Lithuania,  Giedrius Surplys, Minister of Rural Affairs of the Republic of Estonia; Tarmo Tamm,  Acting Minister of Agriculture of Armenia, Gegam Gevorkyan; Minister of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Carola Schouten, Vice Prime Minister Carola Schouten; Minister of Agriculture and Forestry of Turkey Bekir Pakdemirli and Deputy Minister of Food and Agriculture of the Federal Republic of Germany Hermann Onko Aeikens.
At the bilateral meetings with his Countapart Ministers, Levan Davitashvili presented current Advisor to the Prime Minister of Georgia and nominee for the position of the Secretary General of the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization, David Kirvalidze. Elections will be held in June 2019. The representatives of different countries openly expressed their readiness to support Georgia’s candidate with high cultural fit, competence and professional knowledge at the leading position of the international organization .
Since 1926, the exhibition "Green Week" (Gruene Woche) is held annually in Germany. This year, 100,000 food products will be presented by more than 2000 companies from different countries around the world. The number of visitors to the exhibition is growing annually and currently reaches 500 000. In 2019 Finland will be the partner country of the International Green Week Berlin along with Germany.
