" Honey is one of the best-placed Georgian products. It should be noted, that one of the most fundamental issues for the Government of Georgia is to support Georgian food products. We strive to promote and establish Georgian honey production in the global market, thereby, a number of activities are being implemented in different directions.Georgian honey has become the first product of animal origin which is exported to the European market. As far as, we are concerning about the State Procurement Agency to announce the consolidated tender for honey procurement and thus related shambles, I think some misunderstanding was caused in this respect and undergoing process was incorrectly understood by some persons. According to the decision made by the Commission, the candidate was disqualified and the submitted sample did not meet the requirements defined under the tender documentation or Georgian legislation. At the end of the meeting, Levan Davitashvili openly expressed his support to Georgian honey producers and thanked them for participating in the meeting. The head of the Farmers' Association, Nino Zambakhidze together with honey producers attended the meeting.
