Main Vision for Green Economy Growth in Georgia presented by the Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture

Under the frame of the official visit to Switzerland, the Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, Nino Tandilashvili  participated in the Session "Sustainable Development in the Region", where she made a report on "Georgia's Vision of a Green Economy".
 In July 2018, the Prime Minister of Georgia, Mamuka Bakhtadze declared "Green Economy" as one of the top priorities of Georgia's environmental policy.
At the session, the Deputy Minister highlighted important aspects of green economy and activities undertaken in this regard, including, improvement of air quality, development of green transport policy, development of green infrastructure, encouraging circular economy, introduction of green building practice, encouraging energy efficiency, promoting implementation of sustainable development goals.
On January 29-31, 2019, the 24th session of the Committee on Environmental Policy was held in Geneva under the auspices of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe, attending by 60 delegates.Â
