The issues to combat brown marmorated stink bug invasion in Georgia was discussed at the Parliament

At the sitting of the Regional Policy and Self-Government Committee, the Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, Giorgi Khanishvili presented a detailed report on the implementation of the Government Action Plan.
The chemical treatment is underway in West Georgia. The coordination headquarter centers are actively working. The dataset is updated on a daily basis including identification of areas where the invasive pests are mostly spread and due to which the treatment activities are carried out-was noted by Giorgi Khanishvili.
"Our coordination headquarter center works in an organized way. The automated text messaging service system is operated to inform population about the ongoing activities. Around 110 thousand pheromones are allocated across the country, 150 thousand units of specialized techniques are mobilized. The Ministry has purchased 180,000 liters of bipentrine containing insecticide and 209 thousand liters of oily insecticide. We will have a much better results this year, however it is necessary to engage residents in this process "- said Giorgi Khanishvili.
