Issues related to the Development of Forestry sector in Georgia to discuss at the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture

 The Deputies of the Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, Yuri Nozadze and Khatia Tsilosani met with the representatives of the World Bank mission, led by Kseniya Lvovsky, Head of the Department of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources of the Eurasia Region at the World Bank. The possibilities for forestry sector development in Georgia were discussed at the meeting.
Yuri Nozadze thanked the representatives of the mission for their financial support and noted, that he is looking forward to further cooperation in the forestry sector.
Khatia Tsilosani declared, that conservation, restoration and sustainable development of biodiversity is considered as one of the top priority directions of the country and drew her attention to the new Forest Code approved by Georgian Government, in this context, she underlined the importance of the forestry sector development in the country as well.
As Kseniya Lvovsky noted, the world bank mission welcomes cooperation with Georgian side, which is mutually pleasant and meets the objectives of the project, thereby,she stated, that projects implemented in the region have already delivered positive outcomes.
The high rank officials of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture attended the meeting.
