Under the frame of the official visit to Rome, Levan Davitashvili held meetings with the representatives of the delegation of 20 countries

 The Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, Levan Davitashvili took part in the 42nd Session of the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) in the capital city of Italy, Rome, which was attended by the representatives of 190 countries.
Within the session, Levan Davitashvili held bilateral meetings with the official delegations of Italy, United States, Germany, Mexico, New Zealand, Seychelles, Great Britain, Japan, Saudi Arabia, Mongolia and Rwanda.
The main purpose of the meetings was to nominate candidate, Advisor to the Prime Minister of Georgia Davit Kirvalidze for the position of Director-General of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations.
Davit Kirvalidze introduced his views and future plans to the interested parties, thereby, he expressed his hope and noted, that the parties will be able to successfully achieving goals and responding to the current challenges in a timely and adequate manner. According to Levan Davitashvili, Georgia has nominated the most respectable candidate who will be in the international arena to defend the interests of all countries and will help to achieve the objectives of the organization in accordance with the principles of equal engagement. 
The Advisor to the Prime Minister for Agricultural and Rural Development Issues, David Kirvalidze, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to the Republic of Italy, Konstantine Surguladze and Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, Khatia Tsilosani attended bilateral meetings along with the Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia.
