The first working group meeting was held under the National Forestry Program

The first working group meeting was held within the National Forestry Program at the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture.
The participants discussed activities implemented in 2018 across the country to save the Colchian boxwood and evaluated current condition as well. Moreover, 2019 Action Plan along with the effective recommendations to combat plant diseases by using complex measures was developed by participants.
It is noteworthy, that within the frame of the National Forest Program, seven working groups have been set out to solve sectoral issues. Therefore, the first working group ‘’ Protecting and Restoring Forests in Georgia’’ aims to restore, protect and take care of forests and develop methods for preventing damages caused by different pests and diseases.
The Higher Officials of the Forest Management, LEPL National Food Agency, LEPL Agricultural Research Center, Department of Agriculture, Environment Protection and Natural Resources of A/R Abkhazia,  LEPL Agency for Greening and Environmental Projects, Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University, Forestry Agency of Adjara, Patriarchate of Georgia Foundation “Let's Make Georgia Green”, Tbilisi City Hall Municipal Department of Environment Protection and sector specialists attended the meeting.
