The state program for purchasing agricultural equipment is launched by Georgian Government

The Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, Projects Management Agency will launch a co-financing program for purchasing agricultural technologies across the country.
As the Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture noted, above mentioned program was most frequently discussed at the meetings with farmers, therefore, it revealed that farming equipment meets farmers requirements and urgent needs.
"We think that a number of directions, including grants and co-financing are urgent to ensure access to farming technology. Thereby, we have made a decision to provide 50% grant funding under the new program.
The maximum limit in this case is 150 000 GEL. This will be a grant received by beneficiary farmers.  Farmers who are willing to participate in this program should be registered beforehand " - said Levan Davitashvili.
The aim of the program is to increase access to agricultural machinery (especially harvesting techniques, both self-propelled and trailers).
The objective of the program is to increase the access to funds through co-financing programs.
Within the frame of the program, the budget amounts to 4.0 million GEL, the co-financing no less than 50% of the true cost of agricultural equipment and no more than 150,000 GEL.
The beneficiary of the program may be a natural person or an individual entrepreneur or a commercial legal entity registered in accordance with the law (including agricultural cooperative) in which the state does not own a share .
The agricultural equipment purchased by the beneficiary shall not be neither in sale nor produced two years before the purchase;
The program will be implemented within the frame of "Unified  AgroProject", which aims the long-term development with the purpose to create an environment that will promote competition in agriculture, stable growth of high quality products, as well as introduction of international standards of food safety.
Today, Prime Minister, Mamuka Bakhtadze highlighted the importance of the state program for purchasing agricultural machinery,  underlined positive dynamics in the field of agriculture and noted, that  state support programs are of utmost importance as they increase farmers access to agricultural equipment.
