Cooperation between civil society, government and donor organizations is of utmost importance to further improve waste management system in the country

The Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture,  Khatia Tsilosani made a welcome speech at the coordination meeting, where  waste management projects were discussed by participants.

In her opening speech, Khatia Tsilosani thanked partners and donor organizations for their support and underlined the importance of developing waste management code in the country, thereby, the involvement of NGO sector and state agencies, as well as the importance of raising public awareness in waste management was stressed by the Deputy at the meeting.

The participants have been focused on  joint actions to improve waste management systems in the country, which will ultimately increase public awareness. 

The communication process plays an important role in the waste management system. We aim to improve coordination in other projects that are implementing in the same sector. Herewith, we promote implementing reforms in the country- "EU representative in Georgia, of the thematic sector Alexander Daras, said.

The meeting was held under the initiative of the EU Delegation in Georgia in cooperation with the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia.

The Delegation of the European Union in Georgia, the representatives of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), the German Reconstruction Credit Bank (KfW), the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), the Swedish International Development Agency (SIDA) and officials of the Ministry attended the meeting.
