Levan Davitashvili: ‘’I’m really glad, that a great number of Georgian products produced by enterprises, which have been created through our financial support are widely available in different markets’’

‘’We greatly appreciate and welcome the opening of a new ‘’Agro-hub’’ market, successful completion of an unfinished building where construction works were delayed over the years. ‘’Agro-hub" offers users natural, fresh, healthy agro-food products. Georgian consumers are well aware of the product quality and this network delivers a stable supply of high quality products to its consumers"- noted the Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, Levan Davitashvili at the opening event of " Axis Towers ".

Although, political opponents often reproach the government team for not creating 100 enterprises and underlining it as an unfulfilled promise, however we face different reality.

"Under the Georgian Government support programs, 190 new agricultural enterprises were opened, comprising primary production, processing and storing enterprises, whereby the total investment exceeds 316 million GEL. We also reconstructed and re-equipped up to 900 enterprises.

Agricultural sector is marked with specificity, investing today might not give results next day, farming activities as well as desirable outcomes need more time. I am happy to see, that the number of Georgian products are constantly increasing in the Georgian retail network and new enterprises are established through our financial support.
This is a tangible result, behind which a lot of people are employed, all who do not want to see it are merely biased and unfair" - said Levan Davitashvili.

As the Minister noted, the number of Georgian products in the market was comparatively small in the previous years, however, at present, we see a significant increase in the network, gaining a competitive advantage over other competitors.

"Apart from agricultural enterprises, new gardens are built and the number of ecologically clean, environmentally friendly local products are gradually increasing in the market. Georgian products are becoming increasingly demanded in the international markets. Soon new state program for promoting organic farming will be launched, which will enable Georgian entrepreneurs and farmers to provide competitive bio-products to local, European and other international markets "- stated Levan Davitashvili.
