Levan Davitashvili attended the presentation "Almeria Agricultural Model"
The Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia Levan Davitashvili attended the presentation "Almeria Agricultural Model". The event was organized by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Almeria and the " Euro Business Consulting’’ and supported by the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia and Georgian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
In the past 50 years, on the basis of the "Almeria development model", Almeria region achieved significant economic growth. The greenhouses, irrigation systems, nurseries, biological control methods, use of fertilizers and agrochemicals, energy efficiency methods, product packaging, storage systems, business associations, training programs, agroindustry programs etc. was developed and extended in the implementation process of Almeria model .
According to Levan Davitashvili, "Almeria Development Model" is an interesting practice for Georgia and Georgian investors.
" Almeria model’’ is widely known as the best example for success and implemented by many countries in practice. We are interested in this model and hope Georgian entrepreneurs to introduce this model in the country and our cooperation to be further strengthened, as far as the cooperation with foreign partners is very important for us.
Accordingly, implementation of this model in our country will be very useful and will give an additional incentive to entrepreneurs to develop the greenhouse farms " said the Minister.
Victor Cruz, President of the Chamber of Commerce of Almeria in Spain, noted , that "Almeria Development Model" was one of the most successful examples in the world, widely applied in Eastern Europe, Latin America and North Africa.
At the presentation, the participants discussed different aspects of this model and possibilities of sharing their experiences in Georgia.
