Levan Davitashvili hosted the delegation of the Kingdom of Thailand

The Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, Levan Davitashvili met with the members of the official delegation of the Kingdom of Thailand. The delegation was led by the Director General of the European Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, Mr. Sasiwat Wongsinsawat.

The participants discussed possibilities to develop economic relations between the two countries. Levan Davitashvili underlined the importance of raising awareness of Georgian wine culture and indicated to the increased Georgian wine export in different countries around the world. At the meeting, the Minister has been focused on the activities undertaken by the National Wine Agency as the Regulating State Agency.

The Minister provided guests with the reforms implemented in the forestry sector and drew his attention to the  importance of the sustainable management of forests in the country.

"Last year, the Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia paid a visit to Thailand to complete his special mission. Within the frame of the visit, we discussed a wide range of bilateral cooperation issues. Today we have talked about prospects for future cooperation in specific areas, including sustainable forest management, dairy and wine production related issues. We are ready to continue to cooperate with Georgian side in the future as well "said Sasiwat Wongsinsawat.

The Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, Khatia Tsilosani and officials of the relevant Agencies attended the meeting held at the Ministry of Environment Protection and Agriculture.
