Georgian Government officials met with the residents of Pankisi Gorge

" Implementation of projects in the fields of agriculture, infrastructure, and energy sectors is envisaged under the  Development Plan of Pankisi Gorge . The awareness to increase among population and provide information of all projects implemented by Georgian Government is of utmost importance " said the Minister of Environmental

Protection and Agriculture, Levan Davitashvili during the meeting with the population in Pankisi Gorge.

The Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia, Maia Tskitishvili, Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, Levan Davitashvili, Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, Nino Tandilashvili and Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Natia Turnava visited Pankisi Gorge and held meetings with local residents.

The Members of the Government provided Council of Elders, Council of Women and young residents of Pankisi with the information about planned and ongoing projects, including state agricultural and entrepreneurship development programs. The issues touched upon energy and tourism potential in the country. The importance of environmental protection was also stressed at the meeting .

Relevant agencies have already made conclusions on the construction of energy facilities and locals should have an access to conclusions to avoid miscommunication that might hinder the development process of the gorge was noted at the meeting.
