Levan Davitashvili held a meeting with the representatives of non-governmental organizations working to tackle environmental issues

The Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, Levan Davitashvili met with the representatives of non-governmental organizations working on environmental issues. The establishment of the Environmental Ombudsman Institute was discussed at the meeting, where the participants highlighted issues related to  the structure, composition, function of the new institute.

Levan Davitashvili stated, that meeting with the representatives of the third sector comprising of discussion, where participants openly express their views will be further held to make Environmental Ombudsman's Office more flexible and its activities more efficient. Furthermore, taking into account the complex and multisectoral character of environmental field, the Institute of Environmental Ombudsman will be introduced in the country under the initiative of the Prime Minister Mamuka Bakhtadze.
At the meeting, the sides have been focused on issues related to the construction of Hydropower Plants and discussed current situation in the country in this respect. 

The Minister, Levan Davitashvili offered non-governmental organizations to hold a separate meeting to discuss the construction of hydroelectric power stations and evaluate ongoing and planned projects.

The Chairman of the Environmental Protection and Natural Resources Committee of the Parliament Kakha Kuchava and Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, Nino Tandilashvili attended the meeting.
