Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture Khatia Tsilosani participates in OIE General Session in Paris

Georgian delegation participates in the 87th General Session of the World Assembly of National Delegates of the OIE, which is held annually in Paris. This year,  OIE-World Organization for Animal Health is bringing together representatives of 182 OIE Member countries.

On May 25-31, under the frame of the 87th General Session, the OIE Delegates will discuss important issues regarding, fight against animal diseases, integrated approach and control, animal vaccination and risk prevention, introduction of international standards for international trade in animals and animal products. The representatives of Georgia introduced international delegates with the current situation in Georgia with special focus on animal diseases and highlighted measures and activities taken in this regard. Within the event, the participants held face-to-face meetings.

"Georgia actively cooperates with the World Health Organization, this cooperation envisages development of modern standards and legislative approximations. Moreover, specific steps have already been taken in this direction and today, in the process of fighting various diseases, Georgia continues to implement  a consistent policy to combat animal diseases, which will be positively reflected on the export potential of our country and demonstrate reliability to their customers " -Khatia Tsilosani said.
The World Health Organization (OIE) plays a key role and determines veterinary policy and supervises its implementation. Georgian delegation comprising of the Head of the National Food Agency, Zurab Chekurashvili and Vasil-Basiladze, deputy head of the National Food Agency Vasil-Basiladze is headed by the Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture Khatia Tsilosani.
