Levan Davitashvili: "Kakheti region has a great potential and capacity to attract investments"

" Kakheti region is rich with natural and agricultural land resources, has a great potential 
to attract investments and is powered by an impressive agricultural field system, including traditional fields: viticulture, winemaking, traditional kernel crops, although,  we admit that, support for planting and developing new crops is of utmost importance. Accordingly,  olive crops which has been developing in recent years, as well as walnut crops, such as nuts, hazelnuts, pistachio etc. are a clear example of intensive crop farming in the region" said the Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, Levan Davitashvili , while delivering his speech at the International Regional Investment Forum in Kakheti.


The importance of protected areas in Kakheti region with special focus on the development of ecotourism was also underlined by the Minister at the forum.


"We have a great potential of wine tourism, which has already emerged in the region. Development of eco-tourism within and beyond protected areas is also possible, that will bring an additional revenue to local population " - stated Levan Davitashvili.
