Georgian Amelioration company receives technical equipment from the World Bank
"The technique provided by the World Bank is very important for effective implementation of company’s activities" - stated the Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture Levan Davitashvili at the event, where the World Bank transferred 25 units of "Renault cars, special equipment and computer technique to "Georgian Amelioration" under the "Irrigation and Land Market Development Program" .
" Under the world bank project, the Amelioration Company has modernized the auto park. It is noteworthy, that rebranding a company will further facilitate to the rehabilitation of irrigation channels and efficient implementation of irrigation works "- stated Levan Davitashvili.
The Deputies of the Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, , Director General of "Georgian Amelioration" Ltd, Otar Shamugia, local representative of World Bank and Project Manager, Lali Durmishidze as well as representatives of the Georgian Amelioration company attended the event,
Georgian Amelioration Ltd has been funded by the World Bank since 2015 with the goal of providing rehabilitation and technical equipment for the ameliorative infrastructure worth $45 mln.Â
The rehabilitation -reconstruction is already completed on the main channels of Kvemo Samgori, Zeda Ru and Tbisi Kumisi irrigation systems. At present, design works are underway on the main channels inter-farm irrigation network, which will be completed by the end of 2019.

"Irrigation and Land Market Development Program" promotes institutional development of the "Georgian Amelioration" LTD, including provision of technical equipment, development of national modernization plan, supporting creation of water-users organizations and preparation of relevant legislative framework.
