The Meeting was conducted under the frame of the ENI SEIS II East

The Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia hosted
the meeting  to discuss ‘’ Open data and e-governance for environment ‘’ under the frame of the EU Project ‘’ Implementation of the Shared Environmental Information System (SEIS) Principles and Practices in the European Neighborhood Countries ENI SEIS II East’’. 

The participants have been focused on the final version of the National Roadmaps, aiming to  identify measures for improving environmental information sharing and dissemination in the country.

As was mentioned, developing national e-governance for sharing and effective dissemination of environmental information is very important and this task is achievable by developing legal and new licensing framework, adopting relevant standards for sharing information and improving access to environmental information through cooperation with international partners.

 

At the meeting, concrete steps were identified  to ensure legal, institutional and technical issues.

It should be noted, that above mentioned project is implemented by the European Environment Agency (EEA) with the support of PwC.

 

The Attaché of the EU Delegation to Georgia, Alexandre Daras, officials of the Ministry, as well as representatives of the relevant governmental and non-governmental sector attended the meeting.
