Priority areas of Agricultural and Rural Development Strategy 2021-2027 under review

The Chairman of the Council, the First Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, Giorgi Khanishvili made a welcome speech at the working meeting of the Inter-Agency Coordination Council for Rural Development. Giorgi Khanishvili underlined the importance of Agricultural and Rural Development Strategy and expressed gratitude to the European Union for the support provided in the agricultural sector of Georgia.

The  Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, Khatia Tsilosani highlighted issues related to the  fourth phase of the European Neighborhood Program for Agriculture and Rural Development ENPARD.

The Head of the Policy and Analytics Department of the Ministry, Secretary of the Council,  Ekaterine Zviadadze presented main priorities and objectives of the Agricultural and Rural Development Strategy ( 2021-2027 ).

The strategy aims to increase competitiveness among agricultural and non-agricultural sectors, improve food, veterinary and plant protection systems, including rational use of natural resources, maintenance of ecosystems  and adaptation to climate change.

The Programme Manager at the Delegation of the European Unioin to Georgia, Ketevan Khutsishvili, representatives of the UNDP and relevant agencies attended the meeting.
