Meeting with the representative of the General Fisheries Commission for the Mediterranean (GFCM)
The Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, Yuri Nozadze held a meeting with the representative of the General Fisheries Commission for the Mediterranean (GFCM) Roberto Emma.
Since 2014, Georgian side cooperates with GFCM in accordance with Georgia’s Commitments taken under the EU-Georgia Association Agreement. General Fisheries Commission for the Mediterranean (GFCM) provides a support to Georgia in the development of fisheries joint management system for existing fish stocks across the black sea region. The system should be in line with the European standards.
At the meeting, the Deputy Minister underlined the importance of the activities implemented by GFCM and expressed readiness for further expansion of cooperation.
The officials of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture and representatives of the GFCM attended the meeting.
